Memories – Venice

Venice, Italy
Ponte Rialto

Venice was one of the most beautiful, mysterious, and romantic places I have visited. You are surrounded by water and there is a slight surreal feeling while walking around the curving and tiny walk ways. Every small bridge you walk over takes you to a new part of the island filled with beautiful buildings, cafes, restaurants, and shops. I was there during the fall and it rained almost the whole time creating a landscape full of muted blues, greens and grays. Instead of car traffic you are free to walk around uninhibited. To get to the other islands or just to get around to the other side of Venice you hop onto a Vaporetto which is a water bus. You feel the magic in the air and every where you turn you can imagine the people from history books walking right past you. My friend told me that Venice is the European capital of romance. If your significant other suggests a trip to Venice then you know that an engagement is pending. I can definitely see that Venice would be the most romantic and magical place to become engaged. If you go to Italy, make sure that you stop in Venice. You won’t regret it.
